Aphelion
A poem for the one closest to my heart but furthest away from me

Each day and night passing
Closes in on the time our love ended
Lengthening our separation
I try to reach you in memories
Pausing on the ones that are still vivid and
Straining for those that are not,
Ending always with the longing for the unreachable.
