It seems that I've forgotten

or can no longer believe

When it comes to how I feel

I'm not a fan of me

Like a flower breaking ground

bright colors bursting free

Until they've all run out

escaping as I bleed

Root and stem extracted

as the bloom is ripped away

The soil and soul impacted

birthing it halfway

To be placed into the water

adopted from the earth

Redefining all that matters

and assigning me, its worth

Not what I imagined

not at all what I had planned

Judged and re-examined

reassigning who I am

Innocence my passport

suffering my debt

Begging for support

when everyone who could, has left

Anyway....
