Angelic Endeavors
A poem about telling my boyfriend the first time I did a hard drug.

Only you and I hidden beneath this bed of flowers.
You yearned for blissful lips,
But you found wired, jaded ones.
Laughing like a god about angelic endeavors,
Disappointment evaded from your words,
Crawling deep within my chest.
I preferred being translucent
Than continuing to be opaque with fear.
I promise to no longer explore angelic hallways for you,
But you say that it’s a choice I should make for me,
Focusing on my own processes rather than yours.
I am drowned by the realization
That you did not come to be a savior;
You came to be a guide,
And I couldn’t thank you enough.
