A poem

By Atomic HistorianPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Lights dancing in the night

Flashing red, blue, and white

My chest feeling ever so tight

Across the way she strolls

Her hair swaying side to side

Here we go

Nowhere to hide

The door opens

And there it is, that smile

Her smile

Her crooked little smile that lights up the room

A million butterflies fluttering in my chest

How did she choose me from the rest

I ask her how she is

Trying to hide my nervousness

Her voice floats like feathers on the wind

Oh, where to begin

How to hold it in?

The flight of feelings in my heart

Love at first sight

Please let this be the start

Of us

Of a beginning with no end

The feeling of never having to pretend again
