In humble form, it sits in hand,
Six faces, corners where it lands,
But in a gamer's eager throw,
Worlds unfold, stories grow.
#
The ancients saw in one die's cast,
A realm where fate and chance contrast,
In D&D, it found its fame,
A role within an iconic game.
#
A church's cry, satanic lore,
Denied the die I yearned to explore,
Yet still, I loved its random roll,
A fusion of tale, math, and soul.
#
In childhood's games, a simple thrill,
In dungeons deep, a fate to fulfill,
Its many sides, a world to unveil,
A dollar-store treasure, now grown so frail.
#
Its randomness, a mimic of life,
Its toss and turn, a playful strife,
Yet more than games, it's become to me,
A symbol of chance, of mystery.
#
So here's to the die, a gem profound,
A universe in your palm to be found,
May its roll continue to enchant and guide,
A dance with fate, in your hand to reside.

I liked the line “a fusion of tale, math, and soul.” Very cool exploration of something simple!
