An Ode to Lovely Death

Haunting Love

By Matthew PerelPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I will love you till Death

And if death must take you

Then I shall envy the earth that wraps you in a final embrace

I will envy the maggots that find their way into your heart

And know that when your flesh melts from bone

I shall adore it no different

And when your lips decay and rot

I will yearn for their feeling

And yet only a fool falls in love with Death

So crown me jester of this undead court

My morbid heart beats in tempo with yours decayed

Oh for this to be my downfall

Oh for how even in Death your beauty shines light

For upon your Death I will take your likeness

And throw it up to the night sky

So I may gaze up at it each lonely night

My muse

My inspiration

My lovely, lovely Death that I am such a fool to adore

Adored you while living and adore you while dead

And when I shall die our souls will rejoice in a waltz

And shed tears that will put the April showers to shame

Spring flowers from that dew

Even in death we bring life

Oh lovely, Lovely Death
