With love, I don’t know where to start

The dove, the wreath, the pair, the art

The beat beneath our feet - the heart

The heat that burns brighter apart

x

The world that turns in space and time

The melody and grace of rhyme

The walk, the run, the jump, the climb

The journey which is so sublime

x

The Transcendent upon your lips

The gold from up above which drips

Untold wisdom from long ago

Such secrets only sages know

x

And yet it seems that in this flow

This stream of dreams that golden glow

We speak the mother tongue of Earth

The flame that burns within the hearth

x

The spark before a love affair

The timeless spell of true love’s stare

Our souls mingle together there

Beneath the stars we are lain bare

x

Such songs we sing to serenade

The spirit of the everglade

She longs for each and every blade

For in its image is she made

x

So too do we reflect the sea

That wants to drown in us one day

And in our lover’s eyes we see

The mirror of the cards we play

x

For if two souls are meant to be

They’re always in the other’s way

Soulmates must share their destiny

And if they don’t, then come what may.
