Silence shrouds her presence

The lonely pulse runs quick

Weapons at the ready

Guided by logic

.

It may be thought bold

Moving through the night

With icy heart so cold

To crush right with might

.

Does her target sense her?

Now his end is near

To your feet now, slowly

Whispered in his ear

.

Arresting tender gaze

Quickening blood flow

Surprising human warmth

Halts the fatal blow

.

On her waist he places

Passionate strong hands

Feverish tension rising

Love in dangerous lands

.

Unspoken words proclaimed

Holding back the kill

Feelings unexpected

His breath inciting thrill

.

He stares down the barrel

Does she take the shot?

Potential for true love?

No, it’s probably not.
