an almost typical morning

like always

the left side of the bed is cold

because you're up before the sun pours in

like always

i set the table for two

close enough so we can hold hands

as we sip our coffees

as if we have forever

like always

i go outside

engulfed by something of yours

that i'll want you to wear again

because the scent of you is fading

and i like the feeling

that you're here

holding me

until i see you run up the steps

and hold me in your arms again.
