American History

Celebrating Memorial Day

American history is the bomb

Is the jet

Is the aeroplane

Like a feeling you get

From a hurricane

By the bayou

And near a river of love.

+++

American history is a lover

Is a plain cover

Is a Danny Glover to my name

Where fields are dreams that comfort pain

And whisper the silence of love.

++++

American history is a Dwayne

Is a mountain range

A sublime horizon

A sweet lotus flower

Moist in its valley

From the dew of love.

++++

American history is a husband to be

Like the one you need

Who you see

It is Peace

It is understanding

Like a door ever open

To the sound of love.

++++

American history is a seed

Is a weed

That we need to succeed

To a marriage everafter

When you reach the timely master

Those primal ties of love.

++++

American history is the bomb

Is the jet

Is the aeroplane

Like a feeling you get

From a hurricane

In a city far beyond

Walking tall

To nature's drum of love.
