Am I Where I Want To Be?

A poem about when my eyes were open to the truth of my relationship.

That's the question that bounces through my head, ringing

Blaring

Everything feels mottled and distorted

some warped version of what is

what was

and what will be

I don't know what is right

But I know what is wrong

And I am

in a wrong

Place

Time

Circumstance

Am I learning a lesson

I ignored

I'm torn

To shreds

Dread sinking into my pores

How could I

How could you

What are we

Was I just a

Tick of a box

No thoughts of tying a knot

Yet entangled together

A game, a scam

A Neverending circle

Of love

Of hate

Always coming back for more

Not knowing what's in store

But I stay

I pray

That we'll find

A way

To fix this

Fix us

End this

our game

Pushed and pulled

Can we mold ourselves into something more

Or will the cracks

Leave us

In pieces
