All I want, my girl, is for you to be happy
I want to see you smiling each day
With that flush of warmth on your cheeks that causes you to glow
I want you to soar high in the sky like an eagle
Fearless, carefree, and magnificent
I want to know your heart will be full with each choice you make in life
The journey you are on should be cherished, not full of heartache
All I want for you is joy
However you can obtain delight
Grab onto that and never lose your grasp
Take chances and go after what you want,
Even if you don't obtain your goal in the end
Life is too short to be anything but happy

This poem is from my book, The Guiding Pen. I wrote this collection for my daughter, and my inspiration to write this book came entirely from her.
