All I ever wanted to ask you

My emotions

All I Ever Wanted to Ask You

Was it truly that effortless-

to let go of my heart, my love?

The heart that never wavered for you,

that held you gently even in your storm.

The heart that never deceived,

only bloomed at your touch.

A sanctuary, unlocked solely by you-

its every corner echoing your name.

You once ruled it like a king.

Now, it’s just a deserted palace of memories,

abandoned without remorse.

Was it that easy to discard

every moment we shared?

The laughter that softened our wounds,

the pain that dissolved in each other’s presence,

the madness that made us feel alive,

and the tears you once wiped away

with hands that now feel like strangers.

From late-night conversations

to endless dreams of a shared future-

did none of it mean enough to make you stay?

And the promises…

Weren’t they sacred to you once?

“You are mine,” you said-

so certain, so sure.

Now those words echo only as betrayal.

“You were a lie”—that’s what I’m left to hear.

The hands that held mine like lifelines

are now cold, absent, unreachable.

We once spoke of forever

as if we had invented the word.

We dreamt of a home,

a life,

a love that could weather anything.

Was all of that so easy to renounce?

And what of me?

Was I so simple to cast aside?

These eyes-once your solace,

this voice-once your calm,

this soul-once worshipped by you

like something holy.

Did the warmth you once craved

turn to something disposable?

The care that healed you,

the smile that lit up your darkness-

did it all fade so quickly

into something forgettable?

Tell me-

was I that easy to erase?
