Though I close my eyes

Dying stars burn the brightest.

Stay, so I can see.

Author's note: There is that moment before you lose someone that burns into your memory. Perhaps it's their face, what they wore, what they said and the feeling you had when you were last with them that sticks with you. Then, little by little, they fade away and you are left with the fragmented echoes of who they once were, or who you wanted them to be.

Thank you for lingering.
