After the Noise
When everything became too loud,
I did not disappear completely,
I simply stepped inward
and stayed there for a while.
There is a strange comfort
in not needing to perform happiness,
in allowing ordinary moods
to exist without correction.
The world expects clear answers,
reasons, plans, certainty,
yet most days are made
from smaller and quieter truths.
I found meaning in repetition,
folded clothes, opened curtains,
walked familiar roads
until they felt new again.
Nothing remarkable happened then,
no sudden lesson appeared,
only a gradual return
to things I once overlooked.
I noticed light on kitchen walls,
the relief of unanswered pressure,
the comfort of not rushing
towards somebody else’s timeline.
Healing never looked impressive,
it arrived in unnoticed pieces,
slow enough to miss
unless I paid attention.
Now I protect my peace differently,
less explanation, more presence,
less proving, more living,
and somehow that feels enough.
