African Figures: Ladies of the Night
Selling bartering just a little more cash please

A painted in shadow, wrapped in gold,
Stories untold, bodies sold.
They walk with hips that silence streets,
In heels that echo broken beats.
Eyes like fire, lips like wine,
They barter time, they blur the line.
No crown, no throne, no gentle grace
Men pass through like shifting sand,
None stay long, none understand.
It’s in their gaze, there’s something more
Like queens forgotten in a war.
African figures, carved in flesh,
Trapped in lace, bruised and fresh.
Not for love. Not for light.
Just surviving through the night.
