Though the earth a bed, the sun my blanket,
Naught in life may lay me down to dream,
Witness beauty of day, or sky starlit—
Contraire, but you, my dear, cause life to gleam.
Friendship with you brings adventure and delight,
Comradery through all life's woos and woes;
Your romance causes my heart to take sight:
Glories of the Christ—as sure wind blows.
Awaiting rivers of life, streets of gold,
When death shall cease and joys unknown increase—
For that day Yahweh saw fit: you I hold;
Your hand is my home, your laughter my peace.
Lover you are, ever friend shall you be;
The journey's far from over... follow me.
