A poem for the hurt

It doesn’t feel the same. Am I okay?

The aches and pains keep on scabbing over like dozens of

overlays

Don’t force it, make it make sense.

I caught something I didn’t mean to catch.

It has scales white as designer shoes that are only meant to be looked upon rather than worn

It has teeth that bite but only to tear your insides.

It has skin that glistens but is rough to the touch.

So many things that you can glance at and want but

When you peel away the overlays

The aches and pains come back in gains

sad poetry
