Accessory Pieces

And the no good love poem.

The lines of my skeleton

Hug the infinite circle of your finger when I'm lucky.

Darkness seizes my sight

When I'm not, closed away in a drawer that smells.

Ticket stubs and incense

Rattle around beside me like broken, desperate pleas.

As though you'll listen.

~

My bones are white silver and I've been dragged

Through the crust

To satisfy the peculiar ignorance curdling in your chest.

You eat where you fuck

And somehow I've turned into an accessory to all this

Unfathomable madness,

Curled around your finger like a hungry witness.

~

You satisfy me.

The hunger burning holes in my retinas, shining through,

From the inside out,

Clashes with the ice-cold cruelty of you and your conquests

And it satisfies.

The ache inside my chest bubbling, ripping, clawing me open

Dies beside your touch.

~

I am a silver fly on the wall to your transgressions and please,

Don't remove me.

Fix me up and touch me when your guilt gallops,

Put me away

When you cannot tolerate what I represent any longer

But please...

Do not dream of pulling me off and throwing me away.
