Accept Yourself

A self-affirmation

Accept yourself as a work in progress,

Unless you can’t

Unless the world has decided by now you need

To be whole and finished.

It’s okay to be incomplete,

People tell me it’s okay.

Others tell me it’s not.

The world tells me I am nothing.

I am something.

Maybe I am something.

Am I something?

Many people feel my presence,

None know my name.

Inadequate, irrelevant,

Interruptive, unworthy.

Forcefully hated,

Yet aggressively loved.

Am I really loved?

I am loved.

I am loved.

I am loved,

Even if few people know,

Who I am.
