Abandonment Never Leaves
Love may leave, abandonment never will...

Bright eyes glisten as the screams drove you away.
Lost, alone and confused I became my own minds prey.
The day you left and never came back,
I abandoned myself and my heart turned black.
Since that moment, the issue I find
is each and every day you show up in my troubled mind.
I might as well accept what I know deep down,
The day that you left, I abandoned myself and slowly I began to drown.

Here I am, and here I'll stay;
Like the moon in the darkness that refuses to fade.
Clouds will cover, but cannot take from my reign;
Mark this as the moment that they realise, as they scoff with distain.
They fell asleep, I cannot be blamed.

The vivid imagery of glistening eyes amidst the cacophony of screams paints a stark portrait of emotional turmoil.
Omg omg omg!!!! This actually happened to me. The person left me and I abandoned myself. And I'm still drowning. Loved your poem!
