A Woman In Love

I want to be touching you

and to be a flower

or something else as sweet and open

the poem and I are tongue tied

arguing about which metaphor to use

for we cannot figure out

what way to describe those two ocean eyes

and those hands that hold so violently

passionately

yet

sweet and lovingly

the poem and I are trying to come up with words

that are worthy enough

to describe your existence

and when you are here, the poem and I are at the lack of any possible syllable

because I am poem's chief

yet when you are here

I cannot seem to be in control of any letter or word I should be writing

but trust me

when I am touching you, I am writing

and in my own way
