A Whale of a Poem
A blue whale is a large, mysterious creature Whose song is a reminder of beauty.
O blue whale, so large and so blue,
How do you fit in the sea?
Your tail must be huge,
And your blowhole must spew,
A mighty great stream of spray.
I wonder if you can sing,
Or if your voice is just a low moan,
Like a foghorn in the night,
Or a whale song in flight,
That only other whales can hear.
You are the largest of all creatures,
A gentle giant of the deep,
A creature of mystery,
Whose home is the ocean's mystery,
And whose life is a mystery to me.
But I am glad you are here,
O blue whale, so large and so blue,
A reminder that there is still beauty
In this world of ours,
Even in the darkest of seas.
