A Tribute to Dolly Parton

With sadness in my heart today,

I write these words with tears to say,

That Dolly Parton has passed away,

On this sad twenty-fifth August day.

At eighty years, her journey ends,

But her music lives and never bends,

For through her songs and words so true,

She left a little light in all of us too.

From humble beginnings, she reached the stars,

With her beautiful voice and her guitars,

She sang of love, of life and pain,

And somehow made us smile again.

She gave us laughter, she gave us tears,

Her music stayed with us through the years,

A woman with kindness shining bright,

Who brought so many hearts delight.

She wasn’t only a country queen,

She was one of the brightest stars we’ve seen,

A generous heart, a soul so true,

And countless people loved her too.

Her songs will carry on through time,

Her voice forever will still shine,

And when we hear those melodies play,

We’ll think of Dolly and the joy she gave away.

So rest now, Dolly, your work is done,

Your beautiful journey beneath the sun,

May heaven welcome you with open arms,

And hold you safe beyond life’s storms.

God bless you, Dolly, wherever you are,

You were loved by millions, near and far,

Your sparkle, your kindness, your laughter too,

Will live on forever because of you.

Rest peacefully, Dolly Parton.

A legend leaves the stage, but never our hearts.
