A tale as old as time

Where you and I reside

I resided on your lap

You're hand caressing my back

How I miss this feeling of security

This false sense of serenity

Small and fragile

I was but a child

Strong and Mild

You're arms would wrap me entirely

Your voice rung through the night

Like chimes passing with the wind

My laughter of sweet innocence

The sweet sound of bells

When the world was full of color and worth exploring

Present day has left me with a bitter aftertaste

I find my way back to the sweet memories

Of when the world was meant for us

We ruled what was in front of us

Imagination the weapon of choice

We thought nothing could break us

Youth was everlasting

What a time to reminisce
