A symphony of smoothness, oh so fine.
Like silken strands, cascading down,
A waterfall's grace, without a sound.
Polished pebbles, kissed by ocean's sway,
Their surfaces gleam, reflecting day.
Velvet petals, soft and oh so fair,
A gentle caress, a whisper in the air.
Marble statues, sculpted with finesse,
Their contours flow, a timeless caress.
Creamy clouds, adrift in azure skies,
Their fluffy forms, where dreams arise.
Honey's sweetness, dripping slow and pure,
A taste of smoothness, forever to endure.
Glistening ice, a mirror to the sky,
Its surface smooth, where skaters fly.
Whispered words, like silk upon the breeze,
Their gentle cadence, bringing hearts to ease.
Smoothness, a touch of magic, a delight,

The difference between light and dark could be as quick and simple as a flip of a switch, the drawing of a curtain, the opening of one’s eyes. It could be more gradual like the slow adjustment of the diaphragm on a microscope, the turn of a planet on its axis, the growing light as you approach the end of a tunnel. A flicker in the dark, a steady glow in the distance, a flash in the night sky.
