A Summer's Tide

Joy and Love Therein

By Cindy CalderPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Summer tides blew across the vast ocean waves

To bring you to me as sure as the winds did blow

An instant glee was mine within as all I craved

Marked me with joy while within my heart did grow

A love previously unbeknownst to me in lonely days.

Canst thou be real or art thou an angel from above

Immersed in song and lingering dreams that stay

From the depths of yonder visions of hope and love?

I know not how the tides of fortune brought thou

To me, but I will not return the joy and love therein

But hold it fast to my heart with a solemn vow

Never to release thee from this love we do spin.

I herald the heavens for the gift of my dear love

Released in summer winds to soar the heights above.
