A Special Place For You and Me

My grandson Liam-for whom I never met

By Cindy ThurmPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

I lie on the ground

And stare into space

The stars start to move

Into the shape of a face

I see you there now

Looking down at me

With that cute little smile

I have always longed to see

You say, "close your eyes"

"Tell me what you see"

I see only two people

Just you and me

We are walking the shoreline

With our feet getting wet

The horizon turns pink

And the sun starts to set

We gather sea shells through the night

On the white Sandy shore

I hold your hand while thinking --

I could want nothing more

Oh how I wish I could be

In that one special place

As I lie on the ground

And stare into space
