What is a sonnet and what does it matter?

Is it important to know that it comes from Italy?

Or that in France they do it differently

Fourteen lines no more no less and twelve syllables

Has to make sense and somehow bring a tune to

But then it looks like four times four and that can be boring

All depends what you put in it at the end of play

Subject matter and consistency are important

Story telling imagery, pictures and a point in case

Give words that matters the most and a tune they remember!

Make it yours to share and spread the word

Then send it out, it is no longer yours.

Now the sonnet is part of the search for the meaning

Of life and history itself belonging to all.
