A Sensory Journey

a poem inspired by the five senses.

By Moh ArabyPublished about a year ago 3 min read

The world around us is a wonderland,

A symphony of senses, so grand.

Five in all, each with a tale to tell,

Together they form a sensory carousel.

Sight, the sense that lets us see,

The beauty of life, so wild and free.

From the colors of the rainbow in the sky,

To the patterns of the leaves rustling by.

The majesty of the mountains, so high,

The vastness of the oceans, stretching to the sky.

The beauty of life, so stunning and bright,

A feast for our senses, a magical sight.

Sound, the sense that lets us hear,

The music of life, so crystal clear.

From the chirping of the birds in the trees,

To the crashing of waves, in the vast seas.

The laughter of children, the wind in the leaves,

The silence of nature, so precious to perceive.

The rhythm of life, so sweet and true,

A symphony of sound, for me and for you.

Taste, the sense that lets us savor,

The flavors of life, like a precious flavor.

From the taste of chocolate, so rich and bold,

To the tang of a lemon, so fresh and cold.

The sweetness of honey, the spice of a curry,

The flavors of life, so diverse and merry.

The taste of love, so sweet and true,

A banquet of flavors, for me and for you.

Touch, the sense that lets us feel,

The textures of life, both hard and real.

From the softness of a petal, on a rose,

To the roughness of a rock, that nobody knows.

The warmth of the sun, the cool of the breeze,

The sensation of touch, so easy to please.

The comfort of a hug, the touch of a hand,

The power of touch, so easy to understand.

Smell, the sense that lets us breathe,

The essence of life, that makes us believe.

From the fragrance of flowers, in a field,

To the scent of the ocean, that makes us feel healed.

The aroma of coffee, the smell of fresh bread,

The scent of home, that fills us with dread.

The perfume of love, the smell of happiness,

The power of smell, so easy to impress.

Together, these senses form a symphony,

A masterpiece, for all of us to see.

A harmony of life, a song of our soul,

A symphony of senses, that makes us whole.

The beauty of life, so wild and free,

Is captured by the senses, all five, you see.

Each one a gateway to the world,

A way for our experiences to be unfurled.

So let us cherish these senses that we hold,

And use them to experience life, so bold.

Let us savor each moment, like it's our last,

For the symphony of senses, is a gift that will last.

Let us open our eyes, and see the world anew,

The beauty that surrounds us, so pure and true.

The colors of the sky, the shapes of the clouds,

The wonders of nature, that make us feel proud.

Let us open our ears, and listen to the sound,

The music of life, that is all around.

The melody of the wind, the beat of a drum,

The symphony of sound, that makes us feel young.

Let us open our mouths, and taste the world,

The flavors of life, so rich and unfurled.

The sweetness of fruit, the savor of spice,

The banquet of taste, that makes life so nice.

Let us open our hands, and feel the world,

The textures of life, so diverse and swirled.

The softness of silk, the roughness of stone,

The tactile sensations, that make life a tone.

Let us open our noses, and smell the world,

The scents of life, so diverse and curled.

The fragrance of flowers, the aroma of tea,

The power of smell, that sets us so free.

Together, these senses form a symphony,

A masterpiece, for all of us to see.

A harmony of life, a song of our soul,

A symphony of senses, that makes us whole.

So let us embrace this symphony of life,

With open hearts, and senses so rife.

Let us cherish each moment, and hold it dear,

For the symphony of senses, is always so near.

Let us take in the world, with all its delights,

Through our senses, so precious and bright.

For it is through our senses, that we truly live,

A symphony of senses, that only we can give.
