Sound Sight Smell Touch Taste

I hear the slam of a distant door

Then a tapping of heels

on a marbled floor

syncopates with my lonely heart

‘til our beats merge together and join.

*

My head turns instinctively

searching

as you move towards me

like a river of velvet

washing over my soul.

*

Finding my breath,

I succumb to your heat -

flowery and sweet

your French perfumed skin

smells of angelic dust.

*

We reach for each other

Like closing the covers

of a Mills and Boon novel -

Tightening our grasp

In a passionate embrace.

*

Lips upon lips

we feast on our love,

as our tangled tongues

swirl around like dancers

in love.
