A promise sung of somewhere else
a journey we must take
finding out who we reflect
the final, grand escape
Courage is the driver
faith is in it for the ride
the ultimate survivor
the coming of the tide
The pounding rhythm of a beat
chance and circumstance at bay
standing firm on steady feet
solid stone formed out of clay
Approaching our becoming
the path before us marks the way
both curious and stunning
the promise of a brand-new day

My father-in-law always loved to say, "This may be the best day of my life." I can see & hear him in your poem.
