A Prayer for Dawn

Embracing New Beginnings

By Aima CharlePublished about a year ago β€’ 1 min read

I feel the stillness of the air,

A silent whisper, soft and rare.

I question, God, what holds us back,

From pathways leading to the track

Of peace and kindness, pure and deep,

While troubled nations sadly weep.

I cast no shadow, wield no might,

My only weapon is the light.

Let children dream with open heart,

And play a loving, gentle part.

Let mothers feel a warm embrace,

And find serenity and grace.

Let fathers sow with hopeful hand,

A bounty for this weary land.

I ask you, Lord, for open skies,

Reflecting truth in human eyes.

To walk in beauty, hand in hand,

Across each sacred, hallowed land.

Uproot the darkness, make it cease,

You are the source of boundless peace.

It's you, my Lord, who holds the key,

To unlock true tranquility.

Implant compassion, strong and true,

In every heart, in all we do.

Demolish hatred, cold and stark,

And leave behind no lingering mark.

Help us, Lord, our guiding star,

To heal the wounds, however far.

Break evil's chains, its cruel design,

Let every noble thought align.

You Almighty God, with power untold,

Let stories of redemption unfold.
