A New York State of Mind

🛸 Challenge Submission: Extra-Terrestrial 🛸

By EYHCSPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

Laying in the grass of time.

I flipped my last dime.

I wondered if my thoughts were a crime.

In this subliminal world of mine.

🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

A touch on my face.

I felt your long extra-terrestrial finger trace.

You said you wanted to race.

I fell into your embrace.

🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

Let’s see how the natives live.

I want to show you how to forgive.

Twelve juries deliberate until five.

I think the defendant is scratching his hive.

🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

The seats are cold and dank.

The room is dark and rank.

The prosecutor has already set out for the bank.

Too bad the verdict left him full of stank.

12 Angry Men

Let’s count to ten.

Who do you think will win?

Let’s forget about this, and let's watch Big Ben.

🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

Let's share a meat lovers pie.

Or would you prefer a Rueben on rye?

Either way, the Big Apple is the place to be.

It will be just you and me.

🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

This world will deny your technological advancement.

I look forward to all your enhancements.

This is my one commandment.

Please do not leave me in disbandment.
