I have not felt the elation that is hope, not for a while at least.
It's like eating that one thing you haven't in years, the memories being brought back the moment it hits your mouth.
There's a new life in me, one that has reignited the fire, the passion.
The only fear is hoping it doesn't get snuffed out so quickly as I found it again,
please let this be the thing that lasts.
I wait by my phone as the seconds,
minutes,
hours,
days pass.
I am not usually the person that willingly has hope, but I will make the exception this once.
Let this be my out.
Let me be free of this hell.
I am hoping for the better days I was promised.
