Meeting, courtship, and eventually marriage

Two people brought together in happiness

Beginning a new life together

On their own at last

But with each other so never alone again

~

Small apartments while they scrimp and save

Wanting to buy that perfect house one day

She keeps a small journal with all the things she wants

He learns architecture so he knows what questions to ask

They both adore any show that involves homes

~

The day finally comes

Their bank account is finally big enough

Time to go hunting for a forever home

Though the market is rough

They’re both sure they’ll find one

~

A year later and the search still goes on

No home seems to have everything they want

They’ve start to grow weary from the hunt

The finances strained with each new showing they see

They start to question if they’re asking too much

~

Till they see a tiny little home

In the middle of the woods

Already the setting is perfect

They both agree though they had never voiced it

The first step inside is what begins to seal it

~

The kitchen directly to the right when you walk in

A den to the left for evenings in

Three bedrooms for the one child they plan to have

The other one an office or guest room when people come to stay

Every window perfectly placed even the bay one in their bedroom

~

The two baths at perfect points in the house

Just far enough away from everything else

To help keep the smells out

Every step they take

The smiles on their faces glow more and more

~

At the end the realtor asks them what they think

They both smile and say “It was love at first sight.”
