Deep blue eyes when they met mine, August 9

That first summer morn our world turned within

White walls, so small, your fingers holding mine

Golden hair shines like the sun, we begin,

My heart nearly bursts, in loving you so

Each whispered breath a breeze across my soul

Baby boy, darling son, how could I know?

Vast depths of mother’s love doth make me whole

No storm can shake, no other love compares

No sweeter flower blooms with summer's scent

Miracle child, Earth angel, stars declare

Isaac, “He laughs,” your name doth represent

Seventeen summers pass, for me and you

Always, forever, my love will be true.
