A Moment Passing

A Poem

A moment passes,

Like how a river flows.

It is born, it is nourished, it manifests itself in our life

And, through remembrance,

Knows.

It knows how to make us smile on the worst of our days,

It knows how to make us recoil back into a comfortable spot.

It knows how we like our coffee, how its taste should remind us of home.

It knows how we like our music, how its sound makes us feel less alone.

It knows how to make us memorable, so that we can say we stood out.

It knows how to make us stronger, so that we don't give in to fear.

It knows how to inspire courage, so that we can defend the defenceless.

It knows how to make us believe, so that we can hold on to hope.

But, is there anything a moment doesn't know?

When it approaches our stop, does it allow us in?

Does it open its doors? Does it ask for a fare?

Who knows really? Moments go everywhere.

I suppose, to conclude my theory,

I could say this:

Whenever life happens,

Try not to miss.
