Congratulations, a round of applause

You’ve reached the highest rank

It only took you ten short years

To captain a ship that sank.

You didn't walk out, you just checked out,

A ghost taking up his space,

Leaving me lonely in crowded rooms,

Erasing yourself from the place.

Thirty-six years of building a life,

Of weathering every storm,

Reduced to a decade of freezing out

What used to be safe and warm.

So wear your crown of deliberate neglect,

Sit high on your throne of dust,

You really succeeded at breaking down

Thirty-six years of trust.

I hope you enjoy the quiet you made,

And the wreckage you left behind,

A masterclass in how to destroy

The best thing you’ll ever find.
