A Man who Feels
A poem about a woman needing a man to feel deep emotions

She's tired of hearts that flex but never feel
Of charm that glitters, hollow as glass
She craves a soul who knows that wounds can heal
By listening first, not letting judgement pass
She needs a man whose strength is grace
Whose pride bends low to meet her teary eyes
Who doesn't flinch when shadows cross her face
But stays until her inner storm subsides
For empathy's the fire love must defend
It warms what time and tempers try to chill
Without its light, desire meets its end
And bodies touch while hearts are standing still
So let him come well aware
A man who feels and shows her he is there
This poem is found in my book, What I Meant to Say About Wanting.
