A lullaby to the girl from Rome…

Thank you, Adam.

Amidst the tapestry of thoughts I weave,

Lies a vision of Maria, so easy to believe,

Her almond-shaped eyes, a window to her soul,

Hold stories untold, making my heart whole.

Her hair, a cascade of beauty divine,

Glistens like stardust, in the moon's soft shine,

And her smile, a sunbeam in a world of gray,

Melts my worries, as night turns into day.

In her presence, hope rekindles its flame,

Lost in years past, it now bears her name,

Through solitude's ache, she finds her way,

With a touch that soothes, like dawn's gentle ray.

She heals my wounds, with a heart so kind,

Embracing my scars, with love intertwined,

As we journey together to her distant past,

I imagine her stories, like treasures amassed.

The landscapes she knew, the moments she's seen,

Shape the woman she is, like chapters in a dream,

And in that dream, I glimpse a future so bright,

A family we build, hearts taking flight.

Though this may be just a dream, a mirage in the air,

I'm grateful to glimpse it, to simply be aware,

For Maria's existence rekindles the flame,

Of love and of hope, forever the same.

Over the last months, I've gone thru an emotional awakening of sorts, and want to share my experience. I'll tell you a story over the next few weeks (today is 10/19/21) about love and loss, redemption and heartbreak. Have I said too much?
