A Longing Carved

An ancient curse that is what you are deep in my heart

A Longing Carved

A longing carved

in breath and blood and stone,

it moves through me

as if it owns my veins.

It turns the night

into a deeper calling,

a quiet pull

I never learned to fight.

Your shadow comes

with slow, familiar heat,

the kind that sinks

into my hidden places.

I feel you rise

in every whispered moment,

a touch unseen

yet carved beneath my ribs.

Your memory holds

the shape of everything,

the way you stayed

inside my quiet storms.

I reach for you

reason keeps me trembling,

though every path

reminds me of the cost.

And still you live

within the dark I carry,

a wanting bound

to everything I am.
