A Long Distance Love

From afar, I fell in love with her

But my heart is left to yearn and stir

For she does not love me in return

Yet my love for her will forever burn

I asked her to wait for me

For a few years, as long as it could be

But she only gave me one

And my heart is left undone

I cannot imagine life without her

For she is my everything and my only cure

But time is not on my side

And my love for her will have to hide

For now, I will cherish what I have

And pray that someday she will love me back

But until then, I will hold onto this love

As my heart continues to soar above.
