A letter to my younger self

TO ME- YAY WE MADE IT

In the precipice of who I am today,

There was a girl who would sit and pray.

The one who believed in the mighty blue,

This is a letter to me , a letter to you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I look down along the time’s trail,

Before my very eyes I see a girl who was deemed to be broken and frail.

Blasphemous wounds that tortured the periphery of your soul,

Pride affils my eyes to see you not succumb to the words of the troll.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tears welling the sadness in your eyes,

You looked up at the starry skies.

The world tore your spirit apart,

The stars chose to heal your heart.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is insane how you believed in the power unknown,

The zeal that thrived in the seeds you had sown.

With courage and valor you set yourself free, And ignited the trust to find hope in all the light we cannot see.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today as I look at you,

I ecstatically wave and scream we made it through.

Trodding on my way to heal all our scars,

I still look up and whisper my dreams to the stars.
