A Heaven's Love

The moon,

Brightly lit,

Sent us into a spin,

A crazy world,

A dizziness exploding into space,

We reached into our soul,

And removed ourselves from that time,

That place,

Removed from the reality of the situation,

To not hear,

To not see,

To not weep,

Dare not cry,

For all the Heaven did weep,

For all the Universe did cry,

And there we sat,

Drinking our wine,

Staring into Heaven’s grace,

Our shoulders pressed into the great Earth,

And the arms of that Universe,

Embraced us,

Held us,

There closely,

Like infants that we were,

We cried,

We hissed,

We held our fists tightly against our chests,

Screaming into Heaven’s face,

We were animals there,

We were alive,

We were reborn,

No longer were we,

We were us!

The wind howled,

We howled,

Like wolves

On the prowl,

We hunted,

That great beast,

From within ourselves,

We ran through the woods,

Like heathens in heat,

Chasing the great herds,

As if we were death itself.

And there,

In that light,

We slept,

As if we had never slept before,

Her body folded into mine,

I held her closely,

Her scent melting into my mind,

Embracing it,

Stealing it,

Making me,

Her mate.
