A Hard Pill To Swallow

A bitter shot to drink

A hard pill to swallow

a bitter shot to drink

when you finally accept

when you finally give up

and let the taste of nothingness

push you to the brink

To the brink of letting go

to the brink of just not caring

even though you really do

you try not to think

because if you try

your voice remains unheard

before you even blink

If you allow yourself to fall apart

if you allow yourself to cry

you know you never will allow

to finally say goodbye

You are guilty of untellable crimes

not a drop of mercy for you

just another forgotten sip

that ends up down the sink
