Two Sides Of A Coin

it’s difficult when life declines

and all we really want is time

revealing the lessons life bestows

**

the pain and ache

a heart can take

no one really knows

**

blurring those lines

saying goodbye

learning the art of letting go

**

it heals and stings

when memories cling

natural emotions, I suppose

**

from what was to be

it’s hard to see

that I should let go now

**

standing alone

I’ve always known

that life and death both share the road

**

memories meet you there

mingled in love’s despair

struggling with the when and how

**

that desperate prayer

whispered into the air

allowing you to let go now

**

a double edged sword and coin

life and love and death are joined

until we’ve learned how to let go
