A gem you were

Dad

By esther hopePublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I watched as tears rolled down their face,

At your burial, a solemn place.

Men strong and proud, now broken and weak,

For the loss of you, they could barely speak.

A fight for justice, they sought to find,

For the man they loved, left behind.

Every person met, spoke your praise,

A good man, a kind heart, a gem in many ways.

Dad, you were loved, and we still wonder why,

Someone would want to end your life.

Your life was precious, a shining light,

We'll miss you always, day and night.

Rest in peace, dear father of mine,

May your soul continue to shine.
