A Fantasy That Was Doomed To Never Be Real
It was all a game

I met you deep inside a dream,
Where every star began to gleam,
The world felt softer in your gaze,
Like endless warmth through endless days.
You spoke my name like sacred gold,
With careful hands and heart untold,
No fear remained inside my chest,
Only the feeling of being blessed.
We wandered fields beneath blue skies,
With quiet truth behind your eyes,
No clocks existed in that place,
Only forever wrapped in grace.
Then morning cracked the fragile scene,
Destroying all that might have been,
Reality arrived once more,
A lonely knock upon my door.
You were a thought I could not keep,
A promise buried far too deep,
A fantasy the stars designed,
Yet never meant for real life.
Still sometimes when the evening glows,
Your phantom presence softly shows,
A memory gentle as the rain,
Returning only through the pain.
I wonder if another world,
Holds dreams where fate became unfurled,
Where love survived instead of leaving,
And hearts were spared this endless grieving.
Though you were never truly mine,
Your shadow lingers through the time,
A beautiful impossible flame,
Too perfect ever to remain.
