A Different Kind of Love

One that lasts

The way I feel about you

Is a different kind of love.

It’s not the sort that lights the sky

like fireworks on New Year's Eve,

It's much deeper and surreal than that.

It has survived the test of time

And will, time and time again.

 *****

Yes, the way I feel about you,

Is a better, different kind of love,

It's not the sort that dies with time

Like a love lost in one night.

Better than those passionate thoughts

And much, much more than just a friend,

I’ll be there in your corner until the bitter end.

 *****

A different kind of love

To the one you remember from the past

The past is all but said and done

But the future is yet to come.

Rest assured and don't regret

My feelings are full and real

They are just a different kind of love.

[A/n: Love is such a strange emotion. When you first meet someone, you can't get enough of them. It is almost as if your heart is possessed. As time goes by, love mellows. The feeling becomes something that, if it is true, lasts till the end of time and beyond. This poem is trying to express that.]

Till next time,
